Hurricane Melissa: I-DIEM Global Response

Resilient Jamaica: Support Equitable Recovery After Hurricane Melissa.

Hurricane Melissa brought catastrophic devastation to the island of Jamaica —homes flattened, roads washed away, and families displaced.

This disaster, like so many others, will have disproportionate impacts on rural populations, elderly, women, and children, many of which lack the resources to adequately prepare and effectively recover from one of the largest storms to impact Jamaica in decades.

I-DIEM Global is leveraging our team, partnerships, connections, and expertise to ensure a resilient, sustainable recovery and future and we need your support. Help us ensure that ALL Jamaicans have access to resources, services, and guidance in this long-term recovery. Your contributions will:

1. Mobilize Financial Support:
I-DIEM Global is engaging with a network of potential donors and corporate partners to secure immediate and sustained funding for disaster relief and resilience efforts. We are in discussions with leading logistics, transportation, and philanthropic organizations to provide the financial backing needed for equitable recovery operations. Please share our Global Giving link and campaign updates on your platforms.

2. Deploy Qualified Emergency Managers:
We are compiling a roster of qualified, deployable emergency managers with experience in disaster response, logistics, and recovery operations. This effort includes both U.S.-based professionals and members of the Jamaican diaspora who can offer cultural and operational expertise in-country.

3. Prioritize Lifeline Support Systems:
Our funding and technical assistance are being strategically directed toward lifeline infrastructure — specifically hospitals, communication systems, and water supply networks. These systems are the backbone of life-saving operations and community stability. Strengthening and restoring these lifelines will be essential to both the immediate response and long-term recovery.

4. Support Equity and Community Partnership:
True to our mission, I-DIEM Global is working alongside trusted local partners to ensure that recovery resources reach historically underserved and marginalized communities that are often the last to receive aid.

Every contribution matters - thank you!
